In Missouri, if you are fired from a job when must the employer pay you?

Missouri Rule

When an employee is discharged, Missouri law provides that earned, unpaid wages are due and payable on the day of discharge, at the contract rate and without improper deductions.[1]

“The unpaid wages ... shall ... become due and payable on the day of the discharge.” Mo. Rev. Stat. § 290.110

The employee may make a written request for payment. If the wages or a valid check do not reach the requested location within seven days after the request, the employer may owe a penalty equal to continuing wages, capped at 60 days.[1]
